Bahrain Crafts

Heritage crafts hold unique cultural value in a globalized world, and Bahrain is experiencing a craft revival that fosters collaboration among artisans in craft, art, and design. As a coastal nation, Bahrain produces maritime crafts like wooden boats and fishing nets, while its freshwater resources support basketry from palm groves and rush plants. Natural materials like clay and gypsum are essential for pottery and architectural carvings, and the rich history of metalworking and goldsmithing results in intricate jewelry and ceremonial items. This revival not only preserves Bahrain's cultural heritage but also enriches its contemporary artistic landscape.
